THE SUBJECT OF WINE
"The scope of the subject of wine is never ending, [as indeed,] so many other subjects lie within its boundaries. Without geography and topography it is incomprehensible; without history it is colorless; without taste it is meaningless; without travel it remains unreal. It embraces botany, chemistry, agriculture, carpentry, economics – any number of sciences whose names I do not even know. It leads you up paths of knowledge and by-ways of experience you would never glimpse without it." --Hugh Johnson (wine writer)

Enchanté is the French word for
"pleased to meet you!"
Wine doesn't have to be
intimidating and neither do the people who drink it.
The Enchanté Wine
Tasting Society is for individuals who are interested in learning more
about wine.
With EWTS, you can:
-
Experience New Wines - taste and
learn about different wines each month without having to purchase them first
-
Learn in a Friendly Environment -
learn about wine among friendly people who are not wine snobs.
We invite you to join us at venues
throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and Houston areas and wine growing
regions near and far. Check our event calendars for specific dates
for wine education and tasting experiences.
For information about the Enchanté
Wine Tasting Society, please email us at

Vicki on Vino
A Wine Review
Brand: Chateau Bonnet Reserve
Appellation: Bordeaux
Vintage: 2003
Maker: Andre Lurton
12.5% alcohol content
This French blend of 50% Merlot and 50% Cabernet Sauvignon was a beautiful deep ruby with aromas of cedar, ripe black cherry and spicy hints of pepper. At first sip, I found it to have a bit of a bite. So, I allowed it to breathe for a few minutes and then approached it again. It was quite enjoyable at this point. The fruitiness of the Merlot intermingled with the Cabernet Sauvignon balanced out the flavors of the wine and created an interestingly complex bouquet. While I sipped and savored this wine alone, it would also be the perfect accompaniment to many hearty dishes like beef steak, pot roast, lamb, sharp or savory cheeses, or Italian dishes with tomato sauces. This wine is definitely worth trying.
